A week in the life of Trent Class...

Trent Class love to read!

This half term's recommended reads...

We love sharing stores in Trent Class. Sometimes we choose books from the reading corner, sometimes we we like to read books that our friends bring in from home!

Please continue this love of reading at home! The children will bring a reading book home every week.

We also have our 'Share a Story' scheme up and running for Trent Class. Every Monday, the children will receive a share a story book to share with you at home. Keep reading this over the week and return it to school the following Monday to receive a new sack!

Phonics

We will be recapping 'Set 1' sounds and learning 'Set 2' special friends.

Phonics Play: this is a fantastic website to practice those all-important segmenting and blending skills! We are focusing on ‘Phase 2 sounds'.

Alphablocks: Alphablocks is a series on YouTube designed to help children remember letter sounds, names and practice blending.

Teach Monster: this is an app that can be downloaded on any smart phone or tablet to practice letter sounds, tricky words and early reading.

Jolly Phonics: jolly phonics songs and actions! Practice the 'Phase 2' actions.
