Meet the Governors
Who are our governors?
About us
Judie Anderson - Chair of Governors
I have been a governor at Shardlow Primary School for over 10 years and the Chair of Governors for about 10 years. I have also been a magistrate since 1999 sitting in both adult and youth courts as a bench chair.
My background is in accountancy, helping my husband in his practice and, for many years running my own business completing VAT returns for clients. I am now retired which means that I can give as much time as is required to the school.

Nancy Hawksworth
I have lived in Shardlow for over 40 years, married to a Farmer and partner in the business. I trained as a Home Economics Teacher, taught in Buxton until I got married. My three children attended Shardlow School and now I have grandchildren who also attend, making them the third generation to attend the school. I obtained an Open University degree in Social Studies in the 1980s. I have been a Parish Councillor for over 30 years serving 2 terms as Chair. I am very much involved with Derbyshire Federation of WIs, having previously been its Chair for 3 years and have served on an NFWI sub-committee for 3 years. Currently I teach twice a month; Preservation classes for adults and give cookery demonstrations to voluntary groups throughout Derbyshire.
The skills and attributes I bring to the Governors include a knowledge of the education system; a wide range of knowledge of the village and the school’s stakeholders; experience of committees and a love of learning.
