RE
Vision statement
Religious Education at Shardlow Primary School offers to provide rich opportunities for children and young people to learn about things that matter in our local area and in the wider world. Shardlow Primary School follows the Derbyshire SACRE agreed syllabus and we use the Plan Bee scheme of work alongside this. This syllabus sets up RE so that pupils study beliefs, teachings and ways of living, and so that they can explore our Shardlow values within our Religious education.
Our shared values from Reception to Year 6 are:
- Community
- Celebration
- Interpretation
- Forgiveness
- Identity
- Sacred
In the process they can examine and reflect upon their own ideas and values. Understanding people’s beliefs can be a first step to recognising and appreciating diversity.
Requests to withdraw a pupil from RE
Parents and carers can choose to withdraw their child from religious education (RE) lessons. Contact Mrs Peach our RE Subject Leader to find out what you're required to do if this happens, and how this may affect school trips to places of worship.
