We will be using these stories to drive our topic:

Knowledge Organisers

Trent Class love to read!

We love sharing stores in Trent Class. Sometimes we choose books from the reading corner, sometimes we we like to read books that our friends bring in from home!

Please continue this love of reading at home! The children will bring a reading book home every week and have access to Oxford Reading Buddy (see more on the 'Parents' tab!).

We also have our 'Share a Story' scheme up and running for Trent Class. Every Monday, the children will recieve a share a story book to share with you at home. Keep reading this over the week and return it to school the following Monday, to recieve a new story!

Tapestry

Tapestry is our online Learning Journey in Trent Class that can be updated by teachers and parents!

We love sharing and viewing your child's achievements, no matter how big or small. Update and check your child's profile every week!

Phonics

We will soon be learning Phonics in Trent Class. You can find the sounds and words we will be learning in the documents section!

We will be recapping 'Set 2' sounds this half term.

Why not take a look at...

Phonics Play: this is a fantastic website to practice those all-important segmenting and blending skills! We are focusing on ‘Phase 2 and 3’ sounds.

Alphablocks: Alphablocks is a series on YouTube designed to help children remember letter sounds, names and practice blending.

Teach Monster: this is an app that can be downloaded on any smart phone or tablet to practice letter sounds, tricky words and early reading.

Jolly Phonics: jolly phonics songs and actions! Practice the 'Phase 2' actions.
